About Homeopathy

Safe, gentle, effective

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a safe, effective & gentle holistic medicine based on principles established over 200 years ago by German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann.

Using the principle of the law of ‘Similars’ or ‘Like Cures Like’ the Homeopath aims to find the one homeopathic remedy to match the client’s symptom picture. A remedy is then given which uses on the smallest dose of non-toxic substances to bring about a result of profound change.

Homeopathy is used for acute & chronic complaints

Homeopathy is used to treat both acute (short term complaints such as fevers, colds, flus etc) and chronic complaints (depression, auto-immune diseases, eczema etc) and is growing in popularity throughout the world.

Homeopathy is used throughout the world

Homeopathy is now used by 6 million people in the UK, 100 million people in the European Union. In all European countries as well as many others, homeopathic medicines are widely used by members of the public for the treatment of minor injuries and simple self-limiting ailments in the home. At least 100 million people in India use homeopathic medicines for ALL of their health care needs.

Homeopathy is the medicine of the future

Homeopathy is the medicine of the present and the medicine of the future. Where most medical treatments involve large doses of medicine with potential side effects, homeopathy uses nano-medicine,  which has a potential to make great changes to a persons health, with no risks or side effects. It is widely known that our hormones and cell signal agents operate at this nano-dose level. The bottom line is that nano-doses are able to penetrate cell membranes and blood-brain barriers with much greater ease than large molecules and nano-doses are considerably safer too.

Can homeopathy really be used for an acute complaint?

Simple answer: Yes. Does homeopathy really work? Simple answer: Yes. Depending on the nature of the acute health complaint, the consultation will take approximately 30 minutes.  The homeopath will ask for a substantial amount of information before prescribing a remedy. Once the remedy has been prescribed, relief from the acute complaint can sometimes be seen quickly.

What about chronic, long term or recurring complaints?

People commonly consult a homeopath for help with anxiety, insomnia or arthritis which are examples of chronic complaints. Homeopathy focuses on the individual, so in order to find a correct remedy for a chronic complaint, the physical, emotional and mental symptoms will all be taken into account when choosing which remedy to prescribe. Length of treatment of a chronic complaint is dependent on how long the complaint has been around. One very general rule of thumb is that for every year that a person has suffered from a complaint, it will take a month of treatment. In this instance, a follow up appointment may be diarised for 3 – 4 weeks. There are many different kinds of homeopathy research conducted about chronic complaints.
